It was awesome!!! The value for the money couldn't be beat!!! There was an
Apple Vacations person waiting for us at the airport and set up transportation for us. Check in at the hotel was quick and without a glitch. We're back, and we had
a WONDERFUL time!! The Sunscape was everything I thought it would be,
and more. I noticed on a lot of their literature that they say things
like, "Welcome to our family," or "your home while on vacation." We all
agreed that we did, indeed, feel as if we were family. The staff was
nothing short of outstanding and, yes, I did meet Gloria! She became
one of our best friends during the trip. She gave me a big hug on our
last day! Our chambermaid was named Caren....I don't know if this is
the person to whom you were referring, but she kept the room in great
shape. The food was great. The piano bar was my hangout!! I was
known among the guests this week as Frank Sinatra!! Lots of great
pictures. We went swimming with the sharks; the girls all swam with the
dolphins and went parasailing. We spent the majority of our time just
laying out on the beach, soaking up the sun, and attempting to break the
"how much alcohol can I consume in one week" record!! I started off
the trip in nice fashion by having a stretch limo take us to the airport
(and pick us up). That was fun. We also met a great group of people
vacationing from the St. Louis area: a husband and wife, and 2 single
women. Also a newlywed couple from North Carolina. We spent so much
time together this week and had so much fun, we are already planning a
return trip for next year (everyone)!!!!!! I have been to Punta Cana
twice and would like the girls to see Cozumel, but I have been
outvoted! So, it will be back to Punta Cana next year. Thank you so much for setting up the trip.
Everything was GREAT!!! We were truly saddened to have to leave. That
will make next year that much nicer. Keep us on your e-mail listing.

Hi Marcy. The resort
is beautiful. Probably one of the most beautiful we've stayed in. We
were initially placed in a unit on the 3rd floor with a cathedral
ceiling by the adult pool, but it was a non smoking room and we switched
to a smoking room overlooking the stage bar and main pool and the
flamingos. We liked the view very much. Sorry I neglected to request
smoking.
The food was good, the service
excellent, the beach and water were fantastic. We had a couple of
issues which were self induced, but it really didn't phase us too
much. We left our sunscreen at the pool day the first day and of
course it was gone. The replacement cost $50. (2 bottles), but
that's what we get for leaving it! We walked the beach another day
and my sandals were gone when we returned to our chairs. (Dave's
were still there, but there aren't too many size 13 people out
there) I figure, who ever got them, probably needed them more than
me. It's a very poor country.
We didn't go on any excursions.
Everyday, we pretty much just walked the beach in the morning, had
breakfast, laid in the sun, had lunch, laid in the sun more and had
dinner, had drinks and watched movies, etc.. It gave us much needed
relaxation. We didn't really buy anything either except some 151 rum
and mamajuana (their rum drink mixed with herbs) and some shells. I
had a massage the second day we were there, and it was excellent.
Over all we had a nice time.
I think the Grand is the
preferred location over their new resort. We were offered a transfer
to the new resort on Sunday for the remainder of the trip, but
declined. We enjoyed our stay there very much. We compare everything
to Playa car and Cancun, and I think Mexico is still our favorite. I
am not sure why, even though this was one of the most beautiful,
with good food and excellent service?????

Hello, we had the
most relaxing vacation ever. We have fallen in love with Punta Cana
and the Dominican people. There is so much to tell you. First off,
getting through immigration was a breeze, in Jamaica we waited in a
hot room for 3 hours, then a two hour ride to the resort, plus 4200.
for a week at sandals....will not do that again. Upon arriving at
the resort, we were immediately given the room we requested, 4324,
right on the beach with a wrap around porch. Juan Carlos at windows
became an instant friend at took great care of us all week. Domingo
and Leonardo at the beach bar were wonderful. The grounds were
beautiful. Our favorite time of day was around 6, at dusk, it was
lovely. Running on the beach was amazing, miles of undeveloped beach
surrounded by beautiful palms. We had no problems going off the
resort beach area. We took special care to drink lots of water. One
of the women on our charter passed at from dehydration. The breeze
coming off the water makes the heat deceptive. The food was
wonderful, every morning an egg white omelet loaded with fresh
onions, tomatoes, green peppers, and lots of jalapenos. Lunch was
always a big plate of the wonderful salsa at the pool bar, then
dinner.....our favorite was the tampiquena steak at the tex mex. the
beach party was wonderful. These people work so hard and always have
a smile on their face. We spent many hours with the people at the
shops around the resort. We met a man from Haiti, painfully thin,
but so gracious, we went into the bank and got 20,000 pesos out and
spent it all at the shops, I felt that they were so appreciative, we
took them all of our shampoos and lotions, and Bill wrapped up
hamburgers every day to take to the poor man from Haiti. We are so
blessed in this country. I think my favorite part of this vacation
was meeting the gracious natives of this country.
The only problem i
had was asthma, I have moderate to severe asthma and cigarette
smoke drives me nuts. The beach area was not large enough for me
to get away from the smokers, and the boat fumes at the marina
gave me problems....other than that it was wonderful. We are
wanting to go back, maybe the first week of June. we would like
to take our children and try another, maybe larger resort. we
have narrowed it down to Bavaro Princess, Iberostar bavaro,
Paradisus Punta Cana and Riu Bambu, I am going to do some
research today and talk to his secretary on Monday and then lets
book. The USA 3000 flight was superb. Thank you for arranging

home e-mail. Overall, we all had a great time. There were
small issues, but none that would have ruined the vacation.
First of all, the resort itself was very nice. Not A-1, in
the grand sense, but very nice (nor were we expecting A-1,
or paying for that). It is a family resort, no doubt.
Little things included, rooms were fine, but beds small,
short. Water pressure in showers very low. Things like
that. As you can see, minor. Entertainment, just OK. Some
of the excursions we chose, questionable. The biggest black
mark, if you will, I would say, would have to be the food.
The general buffet for dinner was not very good. However,
the sit-down restaurants were very good. Had I not read in
a review prior to going that someone recommended making
reservations AHEAD of time (prior to trip) we would have
been very disappointed. But because I did make reservations
ahead, my contact was great - all worked out, all dinners at
the restaurants were very enjoyable. Would definitely
recommend this to your travelers. Making reservations once
there IS difficult - availability slight to 0. The resort
itself was very clean, well maintained and the staff
courteous, friendly and efficient. I hope that gives you
some additional helpful insight.
Oh, we did drink the
water at the restaurants (it appeared bottled) and at the
bars and buffet (for breakfast - and it was not bottled) and
basically, did OK. Three or four in our group got sick at
some point throughout the week, but hard to tell exactly why
(although we never ate off property). Fortunately for me,
none in my family. Also fortunately, the 18 mos. old
Taylor, did not get sick. J. R.
Everything went smoothly during our
Aruba trip. USA 3000 is a delight (compared to US Air).
The Holiday Inn exceeded my expectations as far as the rooms
and accommodations. I think Aruba is the perfect vacation
destination, with fabulous weather, friendly people, no
poverty, and a clean, safe environment. Thank you for your

Hi guys! We had a great
time! It had rained on Sat. and was overcast when we arrived,
but the rest of the week was awesome! We got lots of sun and
spent lots of time at the beach. The food wasn't that great, so
I didn't eat much. But the people were very nice and the
service was good. The service at the buffet could've been
better as far as getting drinks to your table, but it was
decent. There wasn't much hot water, but most of the time it
was bearable. I was just happy the weather was good. Thanks
again and it is definitely a place I would go back to! E.D.
